These promoters are from wine industry, including importers, franchisers, buyers and professional media practitioners. They will promote what they have learned about Italian wine to their customers and partake in other Italian wine promotion activities organized by the Italian Trade Agency Guangzhou Office.
Sophie Xiang is one of the 20 promoters and Sales Manager for Italian wine of Guangzhou BSK Industry Co., Ltd. She told the reporter that she learned the history, brewing, legal regulations, producing areas of Italian wine and pairing wine with dish systematically from the three-day course. “I want to share with everyone my knowledge about Italian wine, promote its culture and help people get to know more about its good quality and high cost performance,” said Sophie.

The event also marked the official opening of 2017 roadshow for Italian wine in China. Roadshow activities include “I love Italian Wines - Top Italian Wine & Spirit Course”, “I love Italian Wines Party Night” and Italian wine promotion activities in retail channels such as promotional campaign, taste of new wines, and match of food and wine. These activities are being held in Guangzhou, and will be carried out in Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu and several other cities in China around the year.
The event happened to be held on the same day as Rome’s City Foundation Celebration. Rome, the city of eternity, was built on April 21, 753 B.C., and every year on 21 April, Rome will celebrate the festival. That night, all the guests gathered in the equally historic city of Guangzhou (built in 214 B.C.), tasted Italian food and wine, sharing an aesthetic Italian life.
