France's prestigious gourmet guide Michelin rewards chef Alleno with three stars

French chef Yannick Alleno on Thursday won the three-star rating in the 2017 Michelin Guide, France's prestigious gourmet guide.

Alleno was the only person in France to be promoted to the top table this year as "he created moment of emotion in his dishes", Michael Ellis, Mchelin guide international director said.

The 48-year-old French chef already runs a three-star restaurant Le Pavillon Ledoyen in Paris.

For this year, the red-cover guide sprinkled 72 new stars at establishments across France with 52 restaurants won the first star.

"Gastronomy has never been so bright with a record of 72 new stars," Eliis said.
