Chinese driving license (C1, C2) can be recognized in UAE, and vice versa!
The agreement signed between China and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) last year, which recognizes the validity of driving licenses issued by each other, has come into effect on 14th March, according to the Ministry of Public Security of China.
Under the agreement, citizens of either country who hold permanent residence permit, are eligible for obtaining a driving permit on the other side without additional training or test.
UAE citizens with short-term visit visa are allowed to obtain short-term temporary driving permit during their visit in China without additional training or test.
Chinese citizens who hold short-term visit visa of UAE are allowed to drive in UAE with Chinese driving licenses, without need to change any other certificates.
License holders should be in line with regulations such as age and physical condition requested by either state.
One thing should be noted is that this reciprocal policy only applies to citizens in each country, which means that Chinese citizens with driving license of UAE cannot obtain Chinese driving licenses without driving test.
To effectively implement the policy, Chinese government promises to optimize services, examine related materials strictly and strengthen traffic management.
