Insomnia may affect many aspects of people’s daily life, no matter work, study or health. For most of the people who suffer from insomnia, taking sleeping pills is the first choice. However, sleeping pills would bring you many invisible dangers such as feeling dizzy, memory deterioration, irregular breathing and so on.
Recently, Prof. Kai.Chen from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine introduces a good and healthy way to ease insomnia – to massage the Yintang Acupoint (“印堂穴” in Chinese).
The position of Yintang
“No matter for what kinds of insomnia, massage the Yintang Acupoint can calm and soothe the nerves so help you to get a good sleep. The acupoint is in the middle of between the eyebrows.”
According to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) theory, each acupoint on the face relates to an organ of human’s body. For Yintang situates in the middle of the forehead, where is the most core and highest position of the body, it is said to reflect the state of human’s heart. The slightly change of color of Yintang can reveal a person’s mental state.
Generally speaking, the Yintang of an exhausting person would show red. The redness of Yintang suggests there should be problems on your sleep quality. Meanwhile, you’d better take some steps to relax the nerves.
Following are the details:
1. Put your index and middle finger together.
2. Massage from the position of Yintang to above, with spiral motion.
3. Keep doing it for 3-5mins before you go to bed.
If you suffered from severe insomnia and regular massage can’t take any effect, try this way:
1. Get a mung bean (pinyin: lvdou, Chinese: 绿豆)
2. Stick it at the position of Yintang with proof fabric to give it a pressure.
