The visit to Foshan drew an end for the 5-day event “Guangdong in the Eyes of Mainstream Media from Countries along the Maritime Silk Road 2015” came to end.
Foshan has showed good integration of traditions and modern approaches. In Foshan media went to the Media Group, the Sino-Europe Urbanization Cooperation Demonstration Area, and the Foshan Ancestral Temple Museum.
Modern Foshan boasts a new town area that could compare with Europe, and brands like Media that had already stepped into the world market.
Midea was established in 1968, and now it has grown from a local workshop into a leading China brand. Its exhibition hall displays product varied from consumer appliances and heating, ventilation to air conditioners.
The brand has close relation with maritime Silk Road countries as during 47 years of persistent growth, it has set up offices and plants throughout the world. Nowadays, it has over 108,000 employees in China and throughout the world.
As for the Sino-Europe Urbanization Cooperation Demonstration Area, it was also highly praised for its advanced idea of planning that has good balance between economic development and reservation of eco-environment.
Covering an area of 88 km2, it is approved and supported by Chinese government and government of European Countries. It enjoys an advantageous geographical location, as it is against Guangzhou in the east and adjacent to Hong Kong and Macao in the south.
The highlight during the tour in Foshan must be the Ancestral Temple (Zumiao) Museum which remains its past glories. As a key cultural relic unit under the state protection, it demonstrates Foshan history, martial art, and Foshan folk art.
