The 2014 China (Dongguan) International Science and Cooperation Week Press Conference
The 2014 China (Dongguan) International Science and Cooperation Week is scheduled to be held at the International Conference & Exhibition Center in Dongguan, Guangdong between December 2-5, said Dongguan Vice Mayor Yang Xiaotang in a press conference held in Guangzhou today.
Co-organized by Ministry of Science and Technology of China (MST) and People’s Government of Dongguan City, this year’s Cooperation week will focus on the “Smarter city” and “Intelligent manufacturing”.
The 2014 Cooperation Week will be held simultaneously with Dongguan talent recruitment and the Asian international robot tournament. Over 30 activities will be encompassed in the themes of exhibition, forum, negotiation and project signing.
Exhibition areas themed on smarter city, robot industry, numerical control exhibition, talent recruitment, research and development institutions, science technology and finance and venture capital will be set up in the event.
According to the organizer, over100 foreign guests from 16 countries and regions have accepted the invitation to participate in the event. World famous enterprises will attend the events including IBM, Apple, ABB and Yaskawa.
The Cooperation Week has been successfully held for ten sessions. Up to now, it has attracted over 450,000 visitors, and helped bring about 2000 technological and talent cooperation projects and cooperative ties with over 20 countries and regions, making it a major platform for carrying out S&T exchange and promoting S&T cooperation in Guangdong province and China as a whole.
The Cooperation Week gave a strong impetus to the industrialization and internationalization of scientific and technological results in Guangdong province, and helped to accelerate the building of an innovation-oriented economy in Guangdong as well as industrial upgrading in Dongguan. (By Yan)
