Jieyang, Maoming, Shaoguan and Zhangjian are the top four cities with fastest development paces among the 12 cities in east, west and north Guangdong, according to a report released by the Southern Metropolis Daily on July 14.
According to the report, 12 cities in the east, west and north Guangdong reached an average 11.3 percent economic growth in 2013, 1.8 percent higher than the country’s average level, with 10 cities’ per capita GDP growth exceeded 10 percent. Steady progress was made in construction of infrastructure, industrial parks and urban expansion, which attracted more and more investments to these cities.
The report combines major economic indicators, including per capita GDP, per capita financial revenue, per capita GDP growth, and Fixed Investments growth. “It is an independent third-party evaluation, which provides an objective evaluation on government effectiveness, and would help the public understand the government’s work.” according to Professor Zheng Guanghui from South China University of Technology.
