German state-owned economic development agency NRW.INVEST set up a new Chinese office in Guangzhou on July 4.
“The establishment of Guangzhou office of NRW.INVEST is considered an important step to enhance the business cooperation between Guangdong Province and North Rhine-Westphalia,” said acting Consul General of Germany in Guangzhou Jochen Künzel. “China is the most important Asian trading partner of Germany and Guangdong as a fast-developing province has made great contributions to the trade volume between China and Germany,” added Künzel.

“Most of Guangdong enterprises’ investments focus in South Asian area. We hope that the setting of the Guangzhou office could bring more investments to Europe, to NRW,” said NRW.INVEST president Petra Wassner.
“By now, over 800 Chinese have settled in NRW, including famous Guangdong companies like Huawei, ZTE. Last year, 63 Chinese companies started their business in NRW,” said Wassner.
