【Case】Foreigner Driving Unlicensed Taxi Is Also Illegal

On 18th Apr, the Malaysian driver, Mr.Chen, drove the car of his wife carrying an unknown passage to Xiawan from Lianhua Road. When the police investigated the car, Mr. Chen showed his passport to the police and asked for ‘protection’ as he was a foreigner. According to the officer of the Administration of Traffic, the foreigner who drives unlicensed Taxi in China will be punished by the administration authority in accord with present Chinese law and regulations, and there is no difference between the punishment to Chinese and foreigners. Therefore, Mr. Chen is faced with a penalty up to RMB 10,000 and under RMB 20,000, and the six months detention of his driving license, according to the Zhuhai Special Economic Zone Regulation of Taxi.
