From June 1st, all the supermarkets, shops and farmers’ markets in Guangdong will stop offering customers free plastic bags. Some of the branded supermarkets in Guangzhou have now started to sell paper bags and other recyclable bags. And plastic bags will be sold at 0.1 - 2 yuan from next month.
Guangdong Industry and Commerce Authorities said the shops violating the new rules will be probably fined 10,000 yuan.
