Till yesterday, near 500 citizens contacts with Guangzhou Civil Affair Bureau with a willing to adopt Sichuan orphans after the massive quake. Guangzhou Civil Affair Bureau said they will exchange adoption information with Sichuan counterparts and try their best to help the adoption work.
Among these 500 citizens, about 300 are local residents and about 350 are married and have no child.
Sichuan Civil Affair Dept said, at present they were focusing on the relief work and the identification and registration work of orphans has not yet started. And the Dept added they would try their best to contact the children鈥檚 family and take good care of the children who were proved to became orphans after the quake. They stressed that they had not authorize any organizations for orphan adoption yet.
