Special Coverage on Relief Work after Sichuan Earthquake

According to the Central Government's arrangement, Guangdong is to receive 1,000 patients injured in Sichuan earthquake. 17 top-graded hospitals of Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Foshan have prepared to receive the first batch of 150 patients.

From today, trains carrying serious injured people will left Sichuan for Guangdong, Yunnan, Guizhou and other provinces, each聽of these provinces聽had prepared about 1000 ward beds聽for the wounded.

People's Hospital of Guangdong representative said, they will take in as many patients as they can, and so far every departments in their hospital has prepared 2-3 beds for the Sichuan patients. All the medical personnel will stand by around the clock, including psychological doctors.

Guangdong Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital has prepared 4 special zones for 200 Sichuan wounded persons, and the 2nd People's Hospital of Guangdong has established a special team with over 50 medicare personnel and office members for taking care of patients and their families.

The 3 affiliated hospitals of Sun Yat-sen Universities had so far sent 56 medicare persons and 3 ambulances to Sichuan. And the hospitals have also prepared to receive serious聽injured persons sent from the quake-affected area.
