On Tuesday, Guangdong Government held a press conference on the Nansha Petrochemical Project, saying the project will guarantee the energy supply for the province and is in line with the province鈥檚 industrial structure optimization process.
Chen Guangrong, the deputy director of the Environmental Protection Bureau of Guangdong, said the province welcome the project, co-launched by Sinopec and Kuwait National Petroleum Company, with an investment of 5 billion USD and dubbed as 鈥淐hina鈥檚 largest joint project鈥.
But he stressed that the project needed to go through the provincial and the state environment protection authorities鈥 evaluation before launch.
