Yesterday, Guangzhou forestry authorities publicized a work plan on the green coverage expansion before the 2010 Asian Games. According to the plan, 100 sq.km. of greeneries will be added or replanted in the city, and the trunk roads and Asian Games Venues will be well decorated.

Wetland, forest and eco parks improvement are also on the work list.

According to the plan, Guangzhou will build 21 green belts along the 21 main roads in east, north and south Guangzhou respectively. Besides, the rural area will also join this green city campaign, local governments are to instruct the farmers to plant flowers and woods for the Asian Games.
