The public solicitation of the creative schemes for the opening and closing ceremonies of the Guangzhou 2010 Asian Games started on February 26, 2008, and it is to end on July 31, according to the Guangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee (GAGOC). The final winner will be announced in October this year and all the finalists will win a 150,000 RMB prize and a certification.
The opening and closing ceremonies of the Guangzhou 2010 Asian Games will be held at the Guangzhou Olympic Sports Center on November 12, and November 27, 2010 respectively.
According to GAGOC, the opening and closing ceremonies are to display the culture of Asia and China with extensive attention placed on cultural elements of South China.
The scheme should be an embodiment of 鈥淭hrilling Games, Harmonious Asia鈥 and illustrate the theme of 鈥淧eace鈥 and 鈥淒evelopment鈥. They must also meet the demand to spread the Olympic spirit and create the festival atmosphere of happiness and harmony. In terms of artistic expression, proposals should be innovative in form, showcasing cultural significance and with the application of creative high-tech visual effects.
