Guangdong's consumer price index (CPI) jumped 6 percent in November over the same month last year due to rising food and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices, figures from National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) showed on Tuesday.
Food price jumped 12.8 percent. Among food items, pork saw a 49.6 percent price increases, followed by a 41 percent rise in poultry products.
And people's living costs went up 1.7 percent than the previous month. The price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) increased by 26.3 percent in November.
The prices of health care rose 5.5 percent, household products and maintenance service price rose only 2.2 percent. Meanwhile, the clothing price dropped 1.8 percent, prices of culture products decreased 0.6 percent and the prices of wine and tobacco were down by 0.2 percent.
