The legend of Nanhai I ancient boat is translated into a romantic musical tonight at the stage of the opening ceremony of Guangdong International Tourism and Cultural Festival of this year.

Madame Wu Yi, vice premier, sent聽a congratulation letter to the event.
Then the聽show begins with a Float Parade, introducing the tourism resources of the Pan Pearl River Delta member provinces, the sister states of Guangdong as well as the cities within Guangdong.
After the parade came the glamour show. The show features the province's two biggest culture hot spots of the year, Nanhai I ancient boat salvage and Kaiping Diaolou (Watchtower) listed as World Culture Heritage. And the lion dance, acrobats and other age-old local arts are merged into the show together with modern lacer lights and mega-screen videos.

The show is the start of the over 80 events. In the coming few days, the cities and towns of the province will host shows, food festivals and other art performances, making it a carnival for local residents and fully displaying this south China province's tourism destination and local culture. Meanwhile, forums and business events on tourism cooperation and local tourism resource exploration will be held.
