Folk Songs from the Military Years
by Alexandrov Ensemble
Alexander Red Flag Song and Dance Troupe was founded in 1928. It is the oldest ensemble attached to the military forces in Russia. The party song for the Bolsheviks was written by Alexander Alexandrov, the head of the troupe. Many other productions from the military years also have influenced many generations in the world. The troupe has been in China many times to give performances for Chinese leaders.
Besides the long lasting songs, the troupe will also perform classic Russian style dances that are exclusively outstanding. Jittebug and Cossack dance are the must-see performance. In the Cossack, male dancers move like swallows flying in the air, while the female dancers can skip along the stage and spin against the fast music tempo.
