Gifted Russian female guitarist Anna Likhacheva will play at the Shenzhen Concert Hall on Dec. 27.
The repertoire includes “The Old Lime-Tree,” “Fandango,” “Moonlight,” “Capriccio Diabolico,” “La Cathedral” and “Theme From ‘Schindler’s List.’”
Though not yet 20, Likhacheva already has gained a worldwide reputation by raking in 17 prizes in international guitar competitions in Spain, Italy, Germany, Croatia and Russia. Her honors include second prize in the IV International Competition in St. Petersburg, Russia, in 2000; first prize in the International Guitar Competition in Spain in 2004; first prize in the International Guitar Competition in Germany in 2007; and first prize in the All-Russian Competition in 2012.
Born in a small town in western Russia in 1993, Likhacheva began playing the guitar with instruction from her father as a child. She made her debut performance in 2000.
She’s studied at C.C. Prokofiev Musical School and Rostov College of Arts, and now is a student at Rostov State Academy and a teacher at C.C. Prokofiev.
