The Moscow Ballet Theater will perform “Swan Lake” at the Shenzhen Poly Theater on Aug. 21-22.
The art troupe is one of the most famous ice ballets in Russia with more than 100 ballet dancers and acrobats. Many of them have won awards. It has performed in many countries and regions and has been invited to most of Russia’s key cultural events. In their performances, they re-create the ballet “Swan Lake,” combining classic Russian ballet with ice skating. Outstanding acrobats will show their skills on a stage that is covered with a layer of ice.
Although “Swan Lake” is presented in many versions, most ballet companies base their staging both choreographically and musically on the 1895 revival by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov at the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg.
