The biggest foreign art festival is coming to town! 2015 sees the 10th anniversary of China-France Croisements Festival of Culture. It’s a festival for lovers of art and French culture, focusing on the French and Chinese cultures that punctuate the daily life of Guangdong residents. Since 28th April till July, urban dwellers in major Guangdong cities can enjoy a good variety of shows of the traditional and contemporary creation brought by French and Chinese artists.
Just as the poster illustrated graphics agency Lava Beijing which sought to combine icons of French culture and Peking opera masks, 2015 Croisements Festival is full of contemporary sense and humor, perfectly in line with the cultural traditions of the two countries. It will be started with the lightshow VS-CARRE-X at 18:30 on 28th April at the Canton Place (Guangzhou).
Coordinated by the French Embassy and consulates in China, the Croisements festival of culture has attracted more than 8 million visitors since its creation in 2006 following the end of the Années Croisées France-China festival. It was designed on the initiative of the President of the French Republic and the President of the People's Republic of China.
For years, culture sectors in Guangdong have worked closely with France consul general to create chances for citizens to enjoy the charm of arts. In the news conference on 15th April, Bertrand Furno, consul general for France at Guangzhou, expressed his gratitudes to these divisions for their participation and support in croisements festivals.
