Hong Kong, a city close to Guangzhou, is home to various leading institutions of higher learning in Asia. In a bid to attract high-level Hong Kong professionals, Guangzhou officials hosted job fairs in the last two days at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
A total of 43 organizations (including 13 recruitment agencies) in Guangzhou participated in the job fairs, including Sun Yat-sen University, the Guangzhou Branch of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Guangzhou Automotive Group, Guangzhou Pharmaceuticals Groups, Guangfa Bank, and the Scientific Research Institute of the South Power Grid.
The recruiters offered about 1,200 jobs, and nearly 2,000 Hong Kong university students visited the job fairs.
Gong Erzhen, vice mayor of Guangzhou, and Yang Qin, director-general of Guangzhou Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, participated at the job fairs and held talks with Hong Kong university officials regarding talent cooperation between the two cities.
