Sponsored by Expo Milan 2015, Consulate General of Italy in Guangzhou, and Guangzhou Library, photo exhibition “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life” will be held at Art Gallery, Basement 1, Guangzhou Library on Aug. 14-30, 2014. It will be inaugurated by Mr. Massimo Baldassarre, Acting Consul General, and leaders from Guangzhou Foreign Affairs Office and Guangzhou Library.
This exhibition displays over 80 photos, introducing the Expo site to the public: it’s about 1 million square meters in size, just a few kilometres from downtown Milan. It will run along a 1.5km-long east-west main axis, the Decumanus, which intersects with a 350-meter north-south road, the Cardo, along and around which Participants will have their exhibition spaces on the theme of Expo. The pavilions of Participating Countries will be set up along the Decumanus, while Italy’s exposition offering will run along the Cardo, with a variety of exhibition spaces set up by the various regions and their cities and provinces. Now there are 147 official participants, including 144 countries. Over 60 countries including China will build their own exposition space (i.e. self-built spaces), while many others will be accommodated in Clusters.
Several of the exposition’s most important structures will be located at the four ends of the Cardo and of the Decumanus, such as the Mediterranean Hill, the Expo Centre, the Open Air Theatre, and the Lake Arena.
Expo Milano 2015’s interpretation of the theme also includes five Thematic Areas PAVILION ZERO, ART & FOOD (located outside the Expo Site at Triennale di Milano), FUTURE FOOD DISTRICT, CHILDREN’S PARK, BIODIVERSITY PARK.
Since Shanghai Expo was successfully held in 2010, people’s passion towards Expo has been lit up. The long awaited Milan Expo will be held from May 1 to Oct. 31, 2015. This exhibition will help the audience to get a glimpse of the Expo site before they go and visit themselves.
