You may be here because of a touch of ambiguity, because of a fragrance in the air.
Thoughts are like dust. Mee Wong invokes the memory of dust on the canvas in her paintings, like a shadow of conformation, narrating the original human feeling and the expression of self emotion whilst conveying a female desire and an ambiguous plot. Her work is like a novel written by time, leaving us stunned, intoxicated and wanting more.
Mee Wong has continued to grow. She believes that as well as visual beauty we must "use our own sentiment to exhibit nice things, that will show true beauty and vitality, not just the simple beauty on the surface." Once she attached great importance to the visual impact of her work, whereas now she explores the spirit and the heart in greater detail. From contradicting the multifaceted self to accepting and enjoying the versatility which may oppose this, she has gained maturity and wisdom to reflect upon her own transformation, looking at the vicissitudes of life. Her growth is not, however, the only the development of her painting techniques. Instead it is her form of art, the feedback from the heart to the connotation of the works.
Mee's work is open, sometimes implicit; sometimes concrete, sometimes abstract. Its affection can surge, and sometimes it seems as quiet as a spring. Her paintings have oriental charm, abstract but grounded with reality. The delicacy of her creation is not only in seeing images, but also in that the stories can be read. She uses the brush to state her deeper feelings as well as the heart of reality. Surrealism and symbolic elements co-exist in her work. The surreal illusion is established on the basis of representational paintings, and she uses external images to form an abstract state, allowing the viewer to understand rhythm, mood and emotional factors in her paintings. Seeing Mee Wong's work is like exploring the mystery of love with surprise and pleasure, even walking into the Garden of Eden.
After seeing the work of Mee Wong, perhaps we can find peace—naked as we came into the world.
