 The Story of Maidou, a Hong Kong-produced cartoon wins the feature film Grand Prix at the top-ranked Annecy International Animated Film Festival in France recently.
The film, directed by Yuan Jiantao, tells the story of a personalized lovely pink piggy, Maidou, in a single-parent family. In the film , Maidou is a not so smart piggy, living a poor life, yet expecting a miracle to improve his fortune. The story of Piggy Maidou, who also experiences hopes and disappointments as a real ordinary human being, appeals to a lot of Hong Kong audience for it just sounds like a true story of a common people.
The film is expected to debut in France at July 2, when its presentation on the Annecy International Animated Film Festival comes to an end.
