French Reel set up a store in this mega mall of Shenzhen
THE city's biggest shopping mall, The MIXc at City Crossing, behind Shenzhen Book City, opened for business Thursday (Dec 9th).
Built by HK-based China Resources (Holding) Co. Ltd., the shopping mall is the core of the company's HK$4 billion comprehensive retail center, City Crossing.
The center is designed to provide Shenzhen with a one-stop middle to high-end shopping and recreation center. Local media predict that the center will help give new life to retail business in Luohu.
This center would also help upgrade the city's retail industry and help boost commerce, trade and logistics, Xu Zongheng, vice mayor of Shenzhen, said during the opening ceremony.
Covering a total construction area of 550,000 sqm, the City Crossing center will house a wide range of stores including retail, food and beverage, entertainment, office buildings, hotels and real estates.
Construction of the second phase of the center will begin next year and will include a five-star hotel, serviced apartments, and an open-air entertainment and recreation plaza.
The MIXc mall covers a total construction area of 188,000 sqm, featuring almost 300 international and domestic brands.
Many big names have set up flagship stores in the mall and the Golden Harvest (HK) Cinema Co. has opened Shenzhen's first overseas-invested cinema.
Former world skating champion Chen Lu has also opened a skating club in the mall.
