While nights grow colder in the city, diners can find warmth at The Pavilion, as the five-star hotel's Cafe Pavilion offers a seafood hotpot special through Dec. 31.
It is a pleasant visit to The Pavilion during the Christmas and New Year season, with Christmas trees and holiday decorations shining in every corner.
Traditionally a pot of broth for boiling meat and vegetables, the hotpot takes on new style at Caf Pavilion. Diners may choose from individual pots with spicy, slightly sour, curry or bone soup flavor.
A variety of condiments is available for personalizing the dish.
For starters, diners can select salad and cold dishes. The sushi and salmon are unusually fresh. Recommended warm dishes include roasted oysters, steamed clams and pan-roasted seafood.
Now comes the main course, actually many courses of hotpot ingredients. Choices include lobster, shrimp, whelks, many kinds of fishe, beef and lamb. A rich collection of vegetables is also offered, as well as Chinese dumplings and noodles.
Then there's dessert. The cheesecake, mousse and walnut cake are highly recommended. The new chocolate fountain gives diners the fun of wrapping their selection of cakes, biscuits or fruit with rich, sweet chocolate.
