Before the start of the Olympic torch relay, GZ citizens have a unique, one-time-only chance to have a close look at the Beijing Olympic Torch!  At 9:30am, June 30, Olympic Torch Tour activities will be held at Grand View Mall (Zhengjia Guangchang), the first stop of the torch's national tour.

The event is organized by the Organizing Committee for the Beijing Olympic Games (BOCOG) and the Lenovo Group and the Torch will begin its travels through the 17 Chinese cities on a tour lasting from June 30 to October 17.

During the torch's stay in Guangzhou people can take photos with the torch, apply on site to be a torchbearer, watch spectacular performances, have the opportunity to participate in various activities and win souvenirs. The event is expected to last two days.

The torch designer from the Lenovo Group Design Institute will come to the scene and give a lecture on torch design concepts and design process.
