Argentine 1980s soccer star Diego Maradona postponed a soccer work tour in Asia, that was going to begin next week, to continue his medical treatment, Argentina's state news agency Telam reported Monday.
Maradona, 46, was going to travel to Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore and Thailand, but he postponed for late June his soccer activities in those countries.
Maradona was going to spend five days in Thailand, where he was going to play in an exhibition game.
The ex-soccer star received his most recent medical discharge from Buenos Aires' Avril psychiatric clinic on May 7, where he was overcoming his alcohol abstinence syndrome.
Before entering the Avril clinic, Maradona had been hospitalized 22 days to recover from an acute-toxic hepatitis caused by his excessive drinking.
The day after being discharged from Avril psychiatric clinic, Maradona said in a televised interview he wants to take care of himself to "continue living."
