World men's number one doubles pair Fu Haifeng and Cai Yun of China won the Indonesia Open Badminton Super Series after beating unseeded Malaysian tandem Mohd Zakry Abdul Latif and Mohd Fairuzizuan Mohd Tazari in the final here Sunday.
Having won the Singapore Super Series last week, the Chinese maintained freshness to end the surprise run of the Malaysians -- 79 below them in world ranking -- 21-17, 22-20.
Latif and Tazari took advantages from several unforced errors made by their opponents and amazingly came back from 12-17 to regain the lead 20-19.
"We were a little beat nervous at 20-19 and eager to end the game as quick as possible. That caused a loop hole in our defense and they equaled the score with a smash," Tazari told Xinhua after the match.
"But defense was not the issue. It was an attacking badminton and they were better in attacks," he said.
World champions Fu-Cai tighten their grip on the top spot of the world ranking with the rare Indonesia Open men's double title for China.
Before them, only Sang Yang and Zheng Bo have won in 2003 since the tournament began in 1982.
