Ronaldo has insisted he could still play with the best.
"I'm not finished," the 30-year-old striker said Friday at his first news conference since joining AC Milan from Real Madrid.
"I've had little opportunity to play in the last six months, but here at Milan I'll have the chance to show the whole world that the Ronaldo story goes on."
The three-time FIFA world player of the year described his relationship this season with Real coach Fabio Capello as "short, ugly and sad."
"He didn't have faith in me and he never told me why," he said.
Ronaldo signed from Spanish giants Real Madrid for a fee believed to be 7.5 million euros (9.7 million dollars).
"Challenges are always the most important thing for me," said Ronaldo. "I turned down money for the 'sporting' challenge. I turned down more money to move to Saudi Arabia and the United States."
Last month, Beckham, Ronaldo's former teammate, signed a five-year contract with the Los Angeles Galaxy of Major League Soccer, which could earn him around 250 million U.S. dollars.
