Second-seeded Li Na of China eased to the quarterfinals of the Stockholm Open by beating Yulia Beygelzimer of Ukraine 6-4, 6-0 on Wednesday.
With the victory, Li set up a next round matchup with Tsvetana Pironkova on Friday after the Bulgarian upset fifth seed Catalina Castano of Colombia 6-4, 6-2 on the same day.
Another quarterfinal match on Friday pitched top-seeded Russian Anastasia Myskina against Martina Sucha of Slovakia.
Myskina, who lost last year's final to Katarina Srebotnik of Slovakia, was forced to a first-set tiebreak for the second straight day to beat Polish qualifier Urszula Radwanska 7-6 (3), 6-3.
Sucha advanced due to the retirement of Swiss Emmanuelle Gagliardi with injury when trailing 4-0 in the third set. Sucha lost the first set 6-4 and won the second 7-5.
