The Dallas Stars signed 33-year-old center Eric Lindros to a one-year contract on Monday, but the financial terms of his contract were not released.
The high-scoring, injury-plagued veteran joins his fourth team in the search for his first Stanley Cup title in the NHL league. He will probably center one of Dallas's top two lines.
Lindros missed 49 games with the Toronto Maple Leafs last season with a wrist injury, continuing a streak of ailments that has plagued his career.
He spent his first nine seasons with the Philadelphia Flyers, leading them to the Stanley Cup Finals in 1997.
The number one overall pick in the draft by Quebec in 1991, Lindros also had four campaigns with the New York Rangers before joining the Leafs last season.
He has played 711 games in his NHL career, scoring 367 goals and 472 assists for 839 points.
Dallas were 53-23-6 last season and were beaten 4-1 in the first round of the playoffs by the Colorado Avalanche.
