Chinese pair Zhang Wei/Yu Yang cruised into the mixed doubles quarterfinals at the Asian badminton championships here on Thursday.

Zhang/Yu defeated Indonesia's sixth-seeded Fitriawan Devin Lahardi/Marissa Vita 21-17, 10-21, 21-19.

But China's three other pairs -- Shen Ye/Pan Pan, He Hanbin/Zhao Yunlei and Gong Weijie/Tian Qing -- all fell at this round, losing in straight sets to their respective opponents.

Besides Zhang Wei/Yu Yang, Japan's Masuda Keita/Matsuda Tomomi are the other unseeded pair in the last eight. Masuda Keita/Matsuda Tomomi advanced at the cost of Indonesia's eighth seed Rijal Muhammad/Nursugianti Endang.

In the quarterfinals, Zhang Wei/Yu Yang will take on Masuda Keita/Matsuda Tomomi, while top seed Widianto Nova/Natsir Liliyanaface Gan Teik Chai/Fong Chew Yen.
