Classical music lovers in Shenzhen have a lot to look forward to in the coming months. For its upcoming spring and summer seasons, the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra has prepared a repertoire of some 20 classical music concerts.
The music season is due to kick off at the Children's Palace on Sunday evening with a concert featuring the talent of Russian violinist Marianna and Chinese soprano Liu Honglin.
The opening concert's theme is romantism and will include several special performances featuring pieces by Richard Strauss, Brahms, Tchaikovsky and Mahler.
Further highlight of the season are several concerts that will give audiences the chance to hear performances from a range of international music masters - among them are concerts featuring the Swiss flute player Graf, the Russian pianist Mikhail Voskresensky and the Russian cellist Kirill Rodin.
The orchestra has also lined up some surprises at a series of special concerts to help celebrate International Labor Day on May 1, Youth Day on May 4 and Children's Day on June 1.
