According to organizers, a total of around 75,000 people have attended the Midi music festival during this May holiday.

Around 30,000 people attended the opening day of last weeks Midi fest, which in its seventh year has now firmly established itself as the nation's most successful rock event.

Just as last year, the event has been held in Haidian Park, just next to Peking University, with over 45 bands performing on four stages during four energy-packed days.

Most of the bands -- with names such as Twisted Machine, Nuclear Fusion and Miserable Faith -- were made up of musicians in their 20s from all across China, with 14 bands joining them from overseas.

According to the event promoter, Zhangfan, it's the first time they've made ends meet as this year's event has drawn big name sponsors like Lee jeans.
