Love is one of the main requirements in the course of one's life and is certainly an indispensable seasoning to life! Yet curry is the soul of Thai cuisine. Every cuisine has its own features and merits. Guangdong cuisine has the edge, with its lightly flavored food and use of rare ingredients, such as game food. Sichuan cuisine is famous for being spicy, and Shanghai's culinary reputation is that its food is a little sweet. Thai cuisine is strong in flavor and rich in numerous spices. It is said that Thai cuisine uses hundreds and thousands of different spices - all vying with renowned French perfumes.
The Banana Leaf Restaurant serves excellent Thai food. It has won a good reputation with its superb culinary skills and elaborate decoration. In the hall, leaves and pineapples hanging from the trees provide shade where you can cool down. Although these are artificial trees, they look quite genuine and are pleasing to the eye. At the end of the hall, an Indian chef was preparing pancakes. He rolled the prepared dough by hand until it was as thin as a piece of paper, then added some butter and other ingredients, and fried it over a gentle heat until it turned golden and gave off a tempting aroma. The corn pancakes we ordered were crisp but chewy, with a nice smell of butter, and much better than Chinese pancakes.
The inside hall looks like a small bar. The walls on three sides are dotted with paintings by a French artist and a wine rack takes up the rest of the wall. With its decor based on a deep coffee color, it impresses you with its tasteful elegance, and you can smell the light aroma of Blue Mountain coffee in the air.
A small hall connects the exterior and interior halls. In the absence of any greenery or elegance in either hall, it is just like a pretty girl from a humble family, with its own unique charm. Decorated in warm colors, it is charming and comfortable. Just to see the decoration is worth a tour.
Signature food can't be neglected in the Thai restaurant.
First item: chicken feet served in sour and spicy sauce White chicken feet are nicely set off against the bright green lettuce and the red spices. How pleasing it looks! And so appetizing, with the cold chicken feet, and proper sour and spice burning your throat.
Signature food: Steamed Crab with curry Again, color attracts your eye, with the thick yellow curry sauce and the orange of the crab backs. The delicate crabmeat goes well with the sweet and spicy curry sauce, with light and thick complementing each other. But the crab did little to satisfy my stomach and I, not content, looked at the dish, still hungry.
An exquisite dish: Rice steamed with pineapple You won't be able to contain yourself when you see the pineapple cut in half and full of steamed, golden rice. Fresh pineapple, shrimps, crabmeat, sausage and egg combine to create a wonderful flavor. The tropical flavor of Southeastern Asia is summed up completely with the sweet curried rice, salty sausage, dried meat floss and cashew nuts.
Free food: self-service desserts This is an idea of the boss, to attract customers. Although only a few desserts are available, they are delicious, and free. Try them!
The Banana Leaf Restaurant is obviously a good choice for Thai food with its cozy setting, tasty food and attentive service. Prices range from medium to high.
