The predecessor of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine can be dated back to more than 80 years ago which was originally as "Guangdong Chinese Medicine Specialty School". In 1924, in order to save Chinese Medicine, treasure of China, out of the danger of extinction, predecessors paid great effort and overcame a host of difficulties to establish this school and educated about 900 students of 21 sessions.
