THE Shenzhen municipal government has made detailed plans to help students sitting the National College Entrance Examinations (NCEE) from Tuesday (June 7th) to Thursday.
The general office of the municipal government has issued a plan to deal with emergencies during the NCEE period.
It was the first time the general office has issued the emergency plan, which used to be the tasks of the municipal education bureau.
A leading group headed by Vice Mayor Yan Xiaopei has been established to deal with NCEE emergencies. The group also includes officials in charge of the city's education, public security, urban management, environmental protection, electricity, water, telecommunications and information confidentiality.
According to the emergency plan, members of the leading group must gather at the municipal recruitment and examination office to deal with any major emergency as soon as it occurs.
Members of the leading group are required to stay in Shenzhen during the NCEE period and ask their departments to closely monitor the NCEE.
The information confidentiality department and the public security bureau are required to monitor the security of the test papers and avoid leaks.
The traffic police department is required to prepare traffic police and tow trucks at major roads near the examination venues to avoid traffic jams. Cars carrying NCEE examinees will be allowed to use special passageways when there is a serious traffic jam.
The electricity bureau will check the power lines linking the examination venues to avoid blackouts.
The health bureau will closely monitor the sanitary situation in and around the examination venues.
The environmental bureau will assign patrol vehicles to monitor the environment around the examination venues to avoid noise.
The disaster-prevention office will eliminate all the disaster hazards near the examination venues and arrange vehicles to carry students to examination venues if the roads are flooded.
The NCEE leading group's hotlines are 8228-8144, 8219-7627.
