Jinan University in Guangzhou municipality, south China's Guangdong Province, has finished recruiting college heads with 10 principals appointed.
Three are from overseas, four from China, and three from Jinan University, the Guangzhou Daily reported.
The principals will work for the university's 10 colleges including the arts college, Zhuhai college, science and technology college and foreign languages college.
Since last October, 92 scholars from Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and nine foreign countries had applied for the vacancies at Jinan University, reputed to be China's best university for overseas Chinese students. After initial eliminations, 46 were interviewed by the university's special committee last month, reducing the list of applicants to 15.
The appointments were made after the 10 finalists passed academic appraisal. Among the new principals, Zhang Tielin, the principal of the arts college, is a veteran actor well-known for his portrayal of Qing Dynasty emperors on screen.
Zhang earned a master's degree from the London Film Academy and had rich experience in acting, directing and screenwriting, said Liu Renhuai, president of Jinan University.
