Germany, together with Britain, becomes the second welcoming country for overseas study, just next to the United States, source with the German Consulate in Guangzhou.
Statistics shows that the number of overseas students studying in Germany has seen a great increase in recent years. It rises from 100,300 in 1996 to 180300 in 2004, an increase of 80%.
In 2004, some 8.9% of the university students in Germany are from abroad.
Among them, the number of students studying Mathmatics, Engineering science and physical science keeps on a greatest rise.
The number of students to be sent abroad by the Chinese Government for further study is expected to hit a record high of 7,245 in 2005, almost double the number who went this year.
