Contemporary Abstract Painting From Munich
Latest Updated by 2005-03-31 19:18:24

Venue: Guandong Museum of Art (GDMoA), Ersha Dao, Guangzhou
Time: March 31 - April 17, 2005

Guangzhou art fans are having a chance to experience a vision feast in the Contemporary Abstract Painting exhibition from Munich, which starts in Guangdong Museum of Art in the city today (Mar 31st).

The exhibition, themed 'Universal Painting', presents 40 pieces of abstract paintings of 13 artists from seven countries including China and Germany.

According to the painters, their paintings are free from the intervention of traditional concept and are more direct in presentation.

The exhibition, kicking off today, is co-organized by the Munich Art Academy, GDMoA and the German Consulate in Guangzhou.

The consulate will organize six art activities in Guangdong this year for further cultural exchanges, and this is the first one, according to Dr. Robert Weber, the German Deputy Consul-General at the press conference.

The exhibition also includes the participation of a student artist delegation from Frankfurt, Germany, he says.

On April 1 there will be a lecture given by Jerry Zeniuk from the Munich Art Academy.
