Making bus travel accessible for the disabled, Shenzhen Bus Group has opened the first bus lines, 59 and N6, designed for wheelchair access.
The buses stop at the main Shenzhen tourist spots and hospitals, with space for wheelchairs, special seat belts, bump-proof mats and emergency buttons.
Bus 59, from Window of the World to Buxin, stops at He Xiangning Art Museum, Splendid China, Honey Lake, Jingxiu Middle School, Beijing University Shenzhen Hospital, Caitiancun, Cable TV Station, Bijia Mountain Park, No. 2 Hospital, Women & Children's Hospital, Litchi Park, Outpatient Department, Dongmen, and Shenzhen People's Hospital.
Bus 59 runs from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., with fares from 2 to 6 yuan. Covering the same route as bus 59, nightline N6 runs from 10 p.m. till midnight.
