A baby macaque was caught at a bus station in Nanshan District on Sunday morning, yesterday's Daily Sunshine reported.
They baby macaque broke into a station of bus No. 226 at around 10 a.m. Monday. A mechanic on duty surnamed Liu said the monkey came from the direction of the Safari Park. "My colleagues tried to catch it, but failed," Liu said. Ten minutes later, one of Liu's colleagues found it hiding in a part of the station. The baby macaque was scared and tired, so it was caught without much effort. The little monkey didn't seem to be afraid of humans and ate whatever it was offered.
The monkey was later sent to the Safari Park.
A park official surnamed Huang said that they were willing to accept wild animals found by citizens. But he said the wild animals found should be first sent to the wildlife protection center, where the animals will be quarantined. After a month, the animals could be sent to the Safari Park.
