Handling pet bodies in Shenzhen
Latest Updated by 2006-06-14 08:32:49

BODIES of dead pets or medical waste from pet clinics should be carefully handled and sent to special waste treatment centers, according to a new regulation issued by the local animal epidemic prevention and supervision office earlier this month.

According to the regulation, the office should be contacted immediately after the pets die. All dead bodies will be first examined by staff members, after which owners are required to pack them in a sealed plastic bag and send them to the Shenzhen sanitation treatment plant in Luohu District.

Pet hospitals are required to send all medical waste to the Shenzhen medical waste treatment center in Futian District.
