Spring Festival is all about family reunions, a survey carried out among the over-50s has found in Changsha, Hunan Province.
All the parents surveyed by the New East Daily said they hoped to see their children come home and celebrate the Chinese traditional lunar New Year. Most hoped their children would take an interest in their parents' health and well-being.
Eighty-five per cent of them hoped to go shopping for the New Year with their children instead of receiving expensive gifts from them.
