It is one of major art works of Chen Shaofang. Traditional stiches of Guangdong embroidery were used in embroidering feather of parrot and Litchi leaves while special stiches for animal paws were used in embroidering parrot claws.

To bring out excellent litchis embroidery, she spent days observing and depicting the shapes of litchis meticulously, even consulting experienced litchi peasants for a profound understanding of litchi's characteristics. She adopted the traditional technique of allowing sufficient space and resorted to the perspective principles of western paintings at the same time. As a result, her litchis different from any other traditional embroidery in terms of texture and roughness.
