A secondary venue of the First International Cultural Industry Fair Shenzhen, the First China Shenzhen International Children's Culture and Art Festival (ICCAF) has provided a cultural feast for more than 3,000 students from home and abroad since it opened in Nanshan District on Nov. 17.
More than 300 children from 20 countries and regions including Russia, Canada, Germany, the United States, Japan, Malaysia and Poland as well as Hong Kong and Macao, took part in a grand performance at the opening ceremony in Happy Valley.
On Nov. 19 and 22, they entered dozens of primary and secondary schools to conduct face-to-face communications with Chinese students.
About 200 international students were invited to the China Folk Culture Villages to learn more about Chinese folk culture Nov. 20.
On Nov. 21, more than 1,000 students from home and abroad joined a series of music, calligraphy and painting contests and held a charity bazaar with their art works in Lotus Hill Park in Futian District.
During the past week, more than 200 foreign students stayed with selected Chinese families in a homestay program, a highlight of the children's art festival.
