The Yangcheng International Book Fair 2004 opened Tuesday at the Guangzhou Huacheng exhibition center with more than 300 publishing houses exhibiting 200,000 books.
The fair, said to be one of the biggest of its kind in Southeast China, is set up in four separate venues in Guangzhou University City, Guangzhou book center, Fangcun Village No.1 square and Guangzhou software information square.
Children's books are featured with more than 5,000 children's books on show. The main venue is for wholesale and retail but all venues host software, enterprise exhibitions and elite books.
The exhibition lasts until Sunday and is open until 9 p.m. each day. Admission is five-yuan with students and teachers admitted for half price. There are free buses to the venues.
