Temperature are expected to drop about five degrees with the arrival of a cold front early Monday.
A Shenzhen Municipal Meteorological Observatory spokesperson said the temperature would be on a gradual decline from Monday.
"It will reach the lowest of 16 to 17 degrees Celsius on Wednesday," she said.
The observatory forecast a temperature drop from 25 degrees Celsius to 20 degrees Celsius from Sunday to Monday, with force 3 to 4 northerly winds. The observatory spokeswoman also said the city would have light rain early Monday.
"The rain will come between midnight today (Sunday) and early tomorrow morning and it will be light," she said.
There was minimal rain during the weekend. While many people saw no rain, an observatory official surnamed Mao said there had been scattered rain throughout the city during the weekend but it was too light to be recorded.
A Mr. Zhang said he saw rain on his car's windshield while he was driving in the downtown area Saturday but it was not enough to wet the ground.
